Allegan Public Schools
The Allegan community is sustained by a quality education that is made available for children of all ages. Allegan has state of the art facilities that are used to maximize every students learning possibility. With small classroom sizes, enthusiastic teachers and staff, and abundant opportunities scholastically and beyond, the children and young adults in Allegan are given the greatest chances of sucess, and in the process, also learn valuable lessons they can take through the rest of their lives.
High School
Allegan High School — "Home of the Tigers" — is part of the Wolveriene Conference, and a class B Michigan high school. AHS has state-of-the art facilities including a fine arts center, 8-lane olympic size swimming pool and leisure pool with water slide and lazy river. Allegan's academics are second to none, as well as their athletic programs which bolster conference, district, regional and state level championships. The teachers and staff are proud of the school they are apart of, and this pride is reflective of the level of care and attention each student receives.
Junior High
L.E. White Middle School brings all 4 elementary schools together starting at grade 6, going through grade 8. At L.E. White Middle School, children are molded and taught how to be young adults, learning valuable lessons in the classroom and on the field. There are an abundance of extracurricular activies that the students are able to take advantage of. From football to forensics, baseball to band— there is sure to be something that your child will find interesting and new.
Elementary
In the city of Allegan, there are four elementary schools to choose from — Dawson Elementary, Pine Trails Elementary, North Ward Elementary and West Ward Elementary. Each school is located in a different part of town, making it more convenient for families to choose a school that fits their family best, and allows the families to find a school that they feel will fit their child best. Having so many options also helps keep the classroom size down, which gives your child the individual attention that you want.
